Initial diagnosis was one of the engines failed to start, you can see just as the engines start some pieces fly off.

No experiment is ever a waste of time, it can always serve as a bad example.

Note to self - don't buy a Tesla just yet.

The manoeuvre they are trying to achieve is amazing, the belly flop to firing the rockets to bring it upright is crazy to watch.

SN10 is already on the pad, it needs raptor engines fitted and they are ready for the next test.

SN8 performed it slightly better

SN8 was starved of fuel and didnt have the thrust to stick the landing, they made an alteration for SN9 but then had an engine failure.

The space X plans are to have 100 flights a year, shuttling cargo to space and mars, this is just the testing of the new design.

Look at there falcon 9 series and they are launching all the time and landing the boosters and reusing them.
