Smart heating

It’s all pretty much plug and play and configured in apps which are really easy to do. Set and forget
Fair86 (or others) I have a technical question I hope you can help me with please? I have set up my Siri commands on my iphone and want to transfer the same commands to my ipad without having to go through the hassle of setting them all up again. Is this possible and if so how do I do it please?

My Hive thermostat and lights have set up fine on both but I have some Smart plugs and a Diffuser that I set up using Smart Life and work on my Amazon Fire but are not recognised by the iPhone Home App. To get round this I used commands in Smart Life to switch the plugs on/off and added the actions to "add to Siri". So I now have an iPhone that has Siri recognising the commands and switches the plugs but I have an iPad that has Siri that doesn't recognise the commands. Is there a way to copy the commands to my iPad?

Can’t help sorry; I use Alexa for everything and setting it up on one Alexa does it on all linked devices - do you not have Alexa or Google assistant etc as that way you aren’t bound by having phone or iPad to hand?

Obvious really Fair86. I didnt even know you get get the Alexa App for iOS. All loaded and sorted now thanks. I am going to start another thread about Skills and Routines as it would be good to see what is decent to use.. Thanks for the help mate

Anyone interested in getting into it on the cheap, or adding to an existing system, lidl doing their hue compatible smart lights again from Sunday 21st Feb. We got plenty of the plug sockets last time at 7.99 and they work great

Another vote for the Nest, it really is a great bit of kit. The learning function on it is really worthwhile and it also calculates how long it'll take to heat your house relative to the external temperature.

Just got a hive and had it set up for about an hour, but the hub has lost internet connection.
No matter what I do, I cannot get the Hub to reconnect back to the heating. The Reciever and Thermostat are both linked so it’s working internally, just not via the app. Anyone any ideas on how to get it talking to the hub again? Solid green light on it, and have rebooted the hub and router a fair few times. Am with Virgin and it is not in the 2.5ghz port

What's the current view of IFTTT - is it safe, does it have a cost - subscription and/or recurring?
Ifttt has a cost

What are you trying to integrate it with?

Most stuff people would want to do can be done with Alexa or Google assistant

There are some things you can do with ifttt but a lot of it is niche / edge case stuff and I'd usually recommend home assistant instead as more powerful but depends what you want to achieve and your level of comfort with tinkering
