Slow laptop

make sure you are viewing process by ALL users not just you ie the system and others masquerading
If you are at 100% then that is why its slow - you need to know which processes are using the % you don't see

It could also be down to Brexit or those damn Tories of course
I did accidentally download Michael Gove once. I was trying to download an episode of 'Thunderbirds' and they're really difficult to tell apart so I ended up with Gove by mistake. Deleted him obviously but unfortunately he escaped from the recycle bin before I could properly shred him.

Its amazing the lengths Gove will go to just infiltrate Trugs computer. You see the algorithm that detects those of a certain political persuasion scored a big hit with this one. The bait of a Gove off his his t*ts like a whirling Derbyshire was too much to resist. You know when you have been Goved .

Take it to PCTech in Normanby and get him to factory reset it .about £40. You won’t lose all your stuff either

I'd stop using cleaner, it's not needed if you are running windows 10 and can actually cause more bother down the line.

What anti virus software are you using? If again on Windows 10, then Windows defender is all you needed.

The issue you are having is probably caused by a multitude of things.

First is you only have 4gb of ram, Whcih is the absolute minimum supported by Windows 10. This means that once Windows has loaded everything it needs to, you probably have very little of that 4gb left.

Which in turn means that instead of using Ram, Whicj is fast, it's instead using your hard drives page file to store programs in.

If the laptop has a mechanical hard drive, rather than an ssd, then this is going to again have a detrimental effect on performance.

Personally I would invest in some extra ram, so if you can list the actual model I might be able go work out how much ram your computer supports as well as whether it's an easy installation or requires a laptop tear down.

type event in start search bar and event viewer will pop uop. Then click on Event Viewer top of the tree and wait while it works. In the middle you will then see errors in the last hour=, last 24 etc. If you have a lot in there it could be an issue so drill down into it. Each error has an id that you can google

Im with MrMacca here - 4gb of ram and you're on a hiding to nothing.

Time to upgrade or buy new

OK thanks guys- It looks like I need more RAM- I need to find out now where the kids money boxes are to make a raid on them

Visit the Crucial Memory website and they have a memory checker that looks at your machine and tells you compatible upgrade options
