Beta site testing starting in America now. In the UK very soon. Then soon after that in Europe, all being well.

Testing starting with iPhones or their top of the range golf sat nav.

What does it do? It looks like game golf but seems to be getting swing data, must have accelerometers in it or something?

I was one of the first people in the world to get the sky track when that came out.

You buy 14 small tags and lock one in the top of each of the clubs. Then calibrate the clubs.

After that you just use the clubs. Either for practice on a range/simulator. Or on the golf course. With different software used in each mode. As no need for gps info when practicing.

It records all of your shots as you play a round of golf (or practice). With you checking how many shots on the hole it recorded. Plus how many putts you had.

It then cleans up the data it has gathered about each shot and loads it on cloud storage. Then allows you to see a lot of stats and simulations of every shot you played. Plus allows you to edit the data. If it misrecorded a swing.

The batteries in the tags are user replaceable.

If you click on the link I sent the page has a read more button for details.

You can use an iPhone or one of their posh golf sat navs to store the recorded data. Then sync it to your cloud account.

Support for Android phones and a cheaper version of their sat nav to be added later. I guess either during or after the beta tests.

Forgot to mention. A friend has got a SkyTrak. We use it mainly when the weather is really windy here. As rain is an issue here much less than wind.

Yeah, sounds similar to game golf which had the red tags in the end of the club and you just tap the tag against the receiver every time you took a shot and it recorded the shots and GPS etc. This seems to do club data too, so would be interesting to see how accurate the club data is.

That's what annoyed me about the skytrak launch monitor, not having any club data only ball data, but the ball data was very accurate. In the end I used to just spray dry shampoo on the club head and from that impact info and what the ball was doing I was able to pretty much figure out what the club was doing. Improved knowledge of impact/ path/ gear effect no end.
