Sky Glass, anyone tried it yet?

It wouldn't suprise my in a few years both sky and virgin will do a collaboration with LG or Sony and stick the hardware in a top end TV.
Unlikely to happen (particularly for VM02) as you have a number of hurdles that would be resolved such as encryption, firmware updates, changes in protocols ( in 6 years they have changed 3 times).
The main one being that there is no willingness / need on VM02 to go down this route as whereas with sky you can use any Broadband with their TV service, with VM02 if you can get the TV service you can also get the Broadband via the same cable.
But if we move to an IPTV model that’s when TV markets open up

It seems like an average spec tv but looks truly awful in terms of thickness, you can get far cheaper and better 4k TV's for the money so the only benefit seems the amalgamation of devices, so you to you if that outweighs the brick of a TV

That was my thought when I saw it last week at the metro centre. It's thicker than the first generation flat screen TV's. Not that it matters to many people but for what you pay for it seems to make more sense to just buy a stand alone 4k tv, but I'm probably missing something.

You're not, for most that would be the best option. We don't even have sky or virgin anymore tbh, we download all of our tv, and though we have a satellite from the old house owners, our TV has Freesat tuner built in so we watch that sometimes for live shows. Definitely don't miss the massive subscriptions every month. Able to download anything we watch in 1080p or 4k HDR, and don't really watch any live sport
