Sky games next season, 5 per weekend..

The positive is that fixtures will be fixed from announcement until January. So kick off times won't change. This will hopefully allow people more chance to plan ahead transport and accomodation for most of the season.
The negative is we will lose that 3pm regularity, home and away. I have mentioned this a couple of times to Boro. Everyone is going to have to make the most of pre planning but that lack of regularity could have a real adverse effect.
I think a lot of people in EFL football will be keeping their fingers crossed about these changes. But maybe they would not have had to do this if Premier League distributed more money down the football pyramid.
I notice the EFL do not seem to have announced the fixtures date yet.. Unless I am missing something. I have been asking the FSA if they have any info on this today.
Yeah, the notice is the most important thing. They need to cut out the date/ time changes once they're originally posted mind.

This is the main thing for me, is giving sufficient notice to people, to plan accordingly, that is a good thing.

How much additional revenue will this generate to the clubs then, should be a fair chunk given the guaranteed ramp up in tv games?

Is that only up to January, then short term notice?

They've said they were keen to extend the notice period beyond 5 weeks, but they haven't given further details on what that would mean for the second half of the season selections.

I'm not expecting much improvement, as they'd have to gamble too much on picking selections on clubs that might be in the hunt and could end picking a load of duds.

Hope I'm wrong though.

Not sure of the exact value but .
"It is understood that based on the EFL’s distribution formula, Championship clubs will earn 46% more in guaranteed broadcast income and clubs in Leagues One and Two will be 25% better off.,EFL had announced Sky as its preferred bidder in early April.,The deal means 10 league matches will be shown live each weekend."

It works well in Ireland with fans going into the club bars afterwards
What games are they watching in the club bars afterwards, the games in Ireland usually kick off at 7.45 on a Friday night?

I know their lower league football kicks off at 3pm, I've listened to updates coming back from Boro matches whilst watching it.

Larne and Portadown move their games to 5.30pm Saturdays if they can.
Sligo and Longford do 7.45pm Saturdays.

That risk should (hopefully) be mitigated by showing more games full stop. Where sky might debate between 2-3 fixtures currently in terms of which will have the most riding on it, presumably they could just show all three?
