They wouldn't usually have a match at 5pm on a Sunday but with no PL football that week they are probably just putting a match into that slot. The Community Shield is on the same day (4pm on ITV) but that has just been re-arranged. It was supposed to be 5:30pm so possibly the intention was to have a match already in progress when the Community Shield started to reduce the likelihood of people changing channel.

So Ipswich Town get to celebrate their return to the Championship by travelling all the way to Sunderland for a 5pm kick off on a Sunday. FFS.
