Sky Arts channel - 20:00hrs tonight - From the archives 1979

TV archives, starting with 1979 and unseen footage from a Kate Bush concert, and early performances by Dire Straits, the Tourists, Pretenders and the Police. Plus, the TV debuts of the Teardrop Explodes and Echo & the Bunnymen, and Talking Heads' memorable appearance on the South Bank Show.

could be interesting
Missed that Wilf, can you get it on catch up?
Just watching the Bee Gees at the moment, class group IMHO, with some cracking hits

Might have watched it if Dire straits were not on it-they are so bad I refuse to watch them on anything and change channel if they come on radio

Know what you mean, hated them at the time, just plodding MOR crap, but I've come to love some of Knopfler's later output. I've obviously gotten old :(

I was only watching that 1979 South Bank Show on the Talking Heads a few weeks back.
I have never seen the TV show(at least I don't think so). Love Talking Heads from that era. I know people go on about Remain In Light and Fear Of Music but the Deluxe Version of Talking Heads 77 is just one of the most incredible albums. One of my favourite albums ever. The original release was like a breath of fresh air when it came out but add the bonus tracks and it lifts it to another level. The bonus tracks some of which were earlier singles were better than most bands best albums.

BONUS TRACKS ON DELUXE VERSION
12 "Love → Building on Fire"
13. "I Wish You Wouldn't Say That"
14. "Psycho Killer" (Acoustic version)
15. "I Feel It in My Heart"
16. "Sugar on My Tongue"
