Refreshing to see the top 5 so close to each other for much of the race and the top 4 all within seconds of each other at the end fighting for the win.
No crashtappen in sight, infact the coverage for much of the race without crashtappen and the non existant karen horner was brilliant. No crying no moaning just how it should be.

Shame about the laps before the VSC. Ferrari's performance felt like being 1-0 up going into the second leg of a 2 legged tie and time wasting for the entire match.
Without the Merc pit stops this was another dull "race".

You should have expected the former. I don't think he could bring himself to praise the latter. Who is now the top driver in the standing ls not in an illegally developed car

It made it the only interesting race this year didn't it. Such a clever race from Sainz. Keeping the pack tight so when the RB pitted it would push them back. Then keeping Lando in DRS to stop the mercs attacking them both. It was like the Carlando days and interesting to see asainz talking to Zac Brown immediately after the race!
What do we think of the new track layout? Removing the "The Float" section has made the race less extreme. Not as long as usual and not as safety cary but it's improved the track IMHO. Those 90 degree corners did nothing but slow everyone down and cause crashes.

I felt sorry for Russell. Seemed to me that the pressure Hamilton was putting on him cost them both the chance to get 2nd / 1st. Some great driving from Sainz and Norris though.
