Why do you keep repeating this bizarre assertion?? I've seen them many times live and watched last night and he sings everything.

Either way, they are better as a full band. Some of the acoustic versions are interesting but I prefer the originals.
 
I have regressed with Simple Minds. I didn't really discover them until Sparkle In The Rain, but now prefer (some of) their earlier stuff like Love Song and I Travel to their bloated later stuff.

It’s not an assertion.
I do put it on Simple Minds threads tho because - it’s about Simple Minds.
People can then still enjoy the gig - because you can’t tell

I’ve seen them a few times recently and I didn’t know at the time.
I couldn’t tell either.

Call it what you will, it's an assertion of something you are saying is a fact. Have you got any evidence of it or a source for this? He makes asides during songs all the time, changes and forgets lyrics. I've not just been to lots of their gigs I've seen countless live videos and what you are saying doesn't add up for me. I'd be very, very surprised if there's any truth to this so am genuinely interested in where it's coming from. The only issue about live stuff I've heard is that they re-recorded a load of the singing and music for the Live in the City of Light album released in 1987 because they didn't like the quality of the actual recordings.
