Ok, I’m confused. You’re correct, I haven’t written Payero off at all.

ANDRAZ SPORAR will finally complete a season-long move to Middlesbrough today – and the Teessiders have also lined up a potential deadline-day deal for French midfielder James Lea-Siliki as Neil Warnock looks to make up to three signings before the transfer window closes at 11pm.
 
Eduardo Camavinga to Real Madrid 30m confirmed today. That’s Siliki’s highly rated young midfield partner. Rennes might not want to lose another one now.

Siliki hasn't even been on the bench this season, he is about currently about 5th choice midfielder for them but they have a couple of youngsters apparently thy want to blood, and maybe have possible signings lined up.
 
Not sure if Morsy out and Siliki in are related. Remember 6 weeks ago we were busting a gut to sign Pelly Ruddock-Mpenza AND Payero, but only got one of them. We ended up playing McNair in midfield, due to shortage of numbers and Warnock was right, McNair isn't a midfielder. I wouldn't be surprised to see Siliki in and Morsy still here.
 
Spoke to a mate who is a Rennes fan. He said 'he is a good player, but is not part of the Rennes project anymore but showed good spirit and skills when he was on the pitch'
 
Looks like this one may be about to "get over the line". Left side cover if nothing else.
