"Significant Teesside Airport contract announced at opening of GMI Construction Group’s new Tees Valley office"

This is the ultimate Tory shill line now isn't it?
I REALLY DO NOT KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I HAVE TO SAY IT 'I HAVE NO POLTICAL PREFERENCE' has it gone in yet. They all lie, they all scheme and they nearly fail in their promises, which the new word is PLEDZE, so when they fail there is no come back. Be it Green, Blue, Red or Rainbow coloured.

This shouldn't be about whether the mayor is tory or labour. If the mayor was doing a good job, wasn't consistently dishonest and corrupt and also used every trick in the book to avoid scrutiny then I wouldn't mind a tory mayor. Unfortunately Ben is all of the above, he is only doing a good job according to his press releases.

Just a lazy view with no actual facts.
Whilst i have no idea what your political views are, that tripe is what shy tories roll out as they have nothing else left

I've worked in warehouse situations, some big, some small. It'll have to be a gigantic warehouse to require 4,400 people to man it. I imagine some of the 4.4k will be temp jobs for the contractors who will build it. After that I'm picturing between 100-300 people, if it is a large warehouse. Then the rest is just catering.

I read through the FB comments. I read until the sick was in my mouth.....granted it was only 10-12 comments.....🤢🤢

Gullible doesn't even begin to describe it. There is MAGA in the USA......but there seems to be an equivalent loony bunch on Teesside, oblivious to the blatant corruption right in front of their noses.

Can't think of any witty acronyms 🤔🤔
Don't discount the potential for CCHQ shills, I remember when Paul Williams was trying to get elected there was interns making comments in every story about him on FB. Someone looked them up and they all went to Eton and were working as interns at CCHQ.

I'd imagine they're cleverer about it now and use proper fake accounts for it, but you see it all the time on the gazette site comment section. There will always be indoctrinated people though, and some that just don't know any better.

Speaking at the official office opening at Cavendish House, Ben Houchen said: “Spades will be in the ground in a matter of weeks".

After Saturday, I was going to ask if Spades is any relation to Stilts.

Oh, btw.

Darlington will be Amazon's first fulfilment centre in the North-East. This opening will create 1,000 permanent jobs for people in the region.

That's a huge warehouse that's staffed almost 24/7. So 4 times that is what Ben is suggesting. Even if you're a supporter, the maths simply doesn't stack up.

The area needs to create more demand.

You can see it in Middlesbrough there are plenty of facilities such as offices etc, but organisations in general don't want to move out of the South East, despite their constant complaints of lack of staff and high rents.

I haven't got an answer, because I am not in charge of an organisation in the South East, but if I worked on Teesside and was in charge of Economic Development I would find out and do my best to address it.

What's that one at Wynyard?
