Shout out to Travers

All of Carrick's keepers - Steffen, Dieng and even Glover and Brynn have made a lot of saves. The issue is they can end up making 3/4 quality saves a game but still concede the same number of goals because we're so exposed.

he's not one of those keepers who's best attributes is with his feet, he's a more traditional keeper imo - shot-stopping & reflex stuff. that said, I noticed his kicking was worse than usual last night, just one of those games. his main attributes for me are reliability - makes very few mistakes or howlers - can't remember a single one in all the years I've watched him tbh.

I was underwhelmed frankly. Some regulation stops, looked a little nervous with the ball at his feet and got sat on his rrrse in a 1 on 1

Hopefully just a little ring rusty ?
I also thought his distribution was a bit wayward at times.

Time will tell.

Didn’t think we would have had to wait 36 hours before the inevitable thread having a dig or two at Travers after his debut albeit started with a positive. I thought he looked fine.

I was disappointed really, particularly with distribution. Didn't look anything special or better than what we've got. Another keeper in a long line of average keepers at the club.

The more you have, the more average they get. Funny that.

That's a shame, seeing as the basis of our entire game is the ability to retain possession at the back.
