Shepherdson Way

I've just been to the ground to get a refund on my Blackpool Tickets and Shepherdson Way is closed. It looks like they've installed gates.

I asked in the ticket office if they knew what the plan was but he didn't know anything about gates and thought the road would be open tomorrow for the match. I didn't see anyone working there so hopefully the barriers were just there to protect the setting concrete and they'll be gone by match time.

I'm no planning expert but I wouldn't have tried to squeeze work in between 2 home games in a week, especially with an international break just a few day later.

Does anyone know the purpose of the gates?

I don't know what they were doing but the entrance from the roundabout near the shops were blocked last Saturday too. So it can't just be something they were doing inbetween home matches.

It is closed for a couple of months. There looks to be major work being done with service trenches but crucially the road opens on match days. It had been closed for over a week prior to Sunderland match and between that game and Cardiff at home. Some would say it is a shame it opened for Cardiff.
