Sheffield United fixture fix

Owing to Sheffield United’s FA Cup 1/4 Final v Blackburn they have craftily moved the Home game v WBA from that weekend (18th 19th March) to Tue 25th April, giving them 2 Home fixtures in a week near the end of the Season. If they beat Blackburn in the FA Cup then they will also have to move the away game at Huddersfield on 22nd April possibly midweek to 2nd or 3rd May ? So, they appear to be trying to store up games towards the last few weeks of the Season.
It may however backfire on them as they will have to play WBA only a few days after the FA Cup semi final plus it would leave them with 2 away fixtures at the end of the season.
If we can maintain our form and owing to Sheffield United’s Cup involvement it could leave us in a very close points position to Sheffield United going into the last few games.

I fully expect us to be above Sheff Utd by 10th April.

I`m sure Carrick will take each game as it comes and do what hes done so well so far.
We jear the noise surrounding Sheffield United and Carrick said that fans "should get excited" about Boro.
But he will focus on the task in hand.
Just keep our sights on the next game and the rest will take care of itself.

Have a look at the options they have on the bench. They are paper thin and patching up vital players to try to get over the line, three games in seven/eight days at the end of a long season could well be too much for some. I think they are trying to manage the load, that's all.

After 11 games we were 14 points behind Sheffield with them top on 24 and the Boro 3rd bottom on 10 points. We now sit 7 points behind them in 3rd spot.

I have heard the Roman Catholic church are going to declare it a miracle if we go up automatically. The Pope's already been in contact with Father Ryan (South Bank Parish) to start putting things in place.

We've done the same in the past. I think we once had 4 home games on the bounce due to how we rearranged games. It's down to the clubs to agree a suitable date I believe.

There's nothing crafty about it. They've literally rearranged the game in their next free midweek. As you say, beat Blackburn and they'll have to play 4 league games in quick succession after an FA Cup semi-final, with fatigue and potential injuries both negative factors. There is no way this is some plan to store up games until the last 2 weeks of the season, it's simply a good cup run and nothing more.

I hope they get to the semi final. They will be massively focussed on playing at Wembley, meaning they lose focus on the league, and their fixtures will build up with an already thin squad

If we win our next three games (get to 69 points) it will be interesting to see how near we are at the International break. They only have two games so can only get to 73 points. That’s if they beat Luton at home and Sunderland away.

Surely it's down to the EFL rather than Sheff United handpicking their fixtures?
Both teams need to agree a date for the re-arranged fixture, the same night Sheff Utd play WBA, Blackburn are at home to Burnley. Whoever wins between Sheff Utd v Blackburn in the cup will need to re-arrange another fixture, that most probably will be May 2nd or 3rd. 🤞 it’s United, a mini fixture pile up
