Seny Dieng

He’s very good. Wouldn’t blame any goals he has conceded at his door really. He really does look a proper keeper and no doubt will kick on even further now we have a win. Now just needs a clean sheet!! His distribution is very very good. He was also good from crosses and set pieces yesterday.

Occurred to me that we have completely stopped talking about the goalkeeping position, clearest indication that Dieng is doing a fantastic job.

Great signing.
Totally agree.

He's an improvement on Steffen, his short and medium range passing is fantastic, enabling us to pull the opposition towards us so that there is space to exploit behind.

There was a moment yesterday when the crowd urged him to shoot.

At first I thought he had, but he was actually attempting a much more intelligent long ball for, I think, Jones. Did anyone else think, even for a split second, that he was going for it?

Certainly better on the crosses than Stefan.

Makes some great reaction saves, bit worrying when, like yesterday, wanders up to the half way line on our corner. Probably knowing full well we never get passed the first man.

Excellent distribution, and I don’t recall as many “heart stopping moments” like you would occasionally get when Steffan had the ball at his feet

I like him. Looks to be a better shot stopper than Steffen distribution similar.

All for an affordable price 👍

Being picky, he looked to have lost his near post yesterday (careless......) and Armstrong had a large space to aim for.....which he did.

Best permanent keeper since Randolph?

He's been good. He's also felt the benefit of not having to hold the ball trying to draw an opposition player out to start a passing move which Steffan did last season. The CB's seem to do that now, so the "get rid of it" mob aren't on his back like they were for Steffan

I know its not saying much, due to our poor recruitment this season, but he is our best signing by a country mile.
He never flaps, and looks really assured in goal, he is an improvement from last year.

Agreed, Dieng and Steffen have very similar attributes. Dieng a little quicker with his feet and quicker reactions but Steffens positioning was better. He had a better knack of closing the angles for the opposition to aim for which Dieng doesn’t do as well. Though that’s probably the only gripe.
