Santa’s little helpers have brought in some expert support as the countdown to the big day gets under way.

Dr Bike will ensure your two-wheeled treat is in tip-top shape in time for Christmas.

Whether it’s a new machine in need of a set-up or a second hand bike that could use a tune-up and a little TLC the Doctor’s team will get you up and running.

The Christmas Bike Build will be in the Town Hall Fire Station on Wednesday, December 14 from 10am to 3pm.

The event – supported by the Cleveland Road Safety Partnership and Sustrans – will offer free bike safety checks and minor repairs along with a bike building service for new, boxed bikes that have been purchased for Christmas.

Cleveland Fire Brigade will also be in attendance to offer road safety advice and will have some freebies to give away.

Mike O’Reilly, Middlesbrough Council’s Road Safety and Sustainable Travel Officer, said: “A bike is one of the best presents any of us ever get for Christmas, both for the environment and for our own health and well-being.

“But most bikes, whether they’re new or second hand, will benefit from a check-up to make sure they’re roadworthy and everything’s working as it should.
“The Christmas Bike Build is a great chance to ensure that special Christmas present really hits the mark, both for experienced cyclists and those just starting out on a great new hobby.”
