Sad really, I always liked him when he was here and always seemed to play well against us...I always like watching players with a bit if skill, Tomlin, Adomah, Ameobi etc

Yes agree. What length of contract was he given and was his injury a freak or should due diligence on his medical check been better?

2 years, so he's still here for another 18 months.
The injury itself sounds suspicious if it was out of the blue, the very first day he has training with Boro and he has an apparently career ending knee injury.

I imagine he's on a few quid as a free transfer and plenty of interest. Possibly 15-20k a week. He's not kicked a ball and with no other info highly unlikely.
What a waste of money. I guess only a 2 year deal means he's a year left at worst after this season.
The whole situation is strange. Also has a strange feel about it. I don't even know how / when he got injured? I'm guessing he passed his medical. Did he doing it holiday or p*ssing around? Are we trying to sack him off? God knows.
He will be 'like a new signing' when he plays

It's disappointing, not least for him, but I think the need for him has lessened since CW came in, given how we play now.
Financially I think his salary will be covered by the clubs insurance.
