Probably one of the most bizarre things of yesterday’s game was their goalkeeper getting booked for time wasting at 1-0 down in the first half. He was livid about it and went to the ref again at half time.
I don’t get what he was doing at all unless he was trying to take the sting out of the relentless Boro pressure. If so he was rightly booked.
Mon the plus side for him, he never wavered once, despite the barracking the crowd were giving him every time he touched the ball afterwards. He must be some character.

I think he thrives on the attention from the crowd, he certainly did yesterday, he kept em in the game & his foot work was good too

Looked to me like he was frustrated with his own team not making themselves available for a pass. He was time wasting by accident, not on purpose. Slightly unusual situation but technically correct I guess, not that it is always enforced so probably shouldn't have been. Think he had been warned at 0-0 for the same thing so maybe it was because of an accumulation.

I think he was trying to slow the game down rather than time waste per say, though the ref booking him made him look a right plonker.

He had a good game and don't think he had any intention of wasting time so he was understandably annoyed, made me wonder would he have been booked if he was white?
