SABIC Olefins 6

Heard the same, construction contractors going Friday.

Project people find out later today.

Not sure on the reasoning yet. Apart from pausing the job.

Paused for 2 months. New bloke from Sabic in Holland is reviewing things on site. Too much money getting spent and not enough getting done.

Very sad news but it was expected. It was costing a million pounds a day.
Hopefully they can restart the project and get it started again.

Noticed a JCB working in the car park yesterday... first time in ages i have seen any movement so hopefully a good sign

Decision day next week. See if Sabic Teesside get the money to finish the project off or close it. Its dropping to bits having been offline for 5 years
Get money from who?

Has it all been a scam? A five year conversion of a forty-odd year old plant decades after similar plants have migrated to the Gulf states sounds dodgy.

Sabic HQ in Saudi. They need to release extra funding to finish it off

It's been offline since 2020 and theTIP project has been stuttering ever since. The longer they leave it the less chance off it ever starting back up.

*What are the odds of SABIC scrapping Ole 6 and selling LDPE and WEC to Ineos - along with their part of WGEP?*

*disclaimer: pure unsubstantiated speculation*
