As if Steffen was the only reason we did this.Once Steffan goes home we can stop this messing about with the ball @ the back conceding goals every game.

I hope you're joking, but for the benefit of anyone else too, this "messing about" is what creates space up the pitch and midfield, it's where most of our goals scored come from.Once Steffan goes home we can stop this messing about with the ball @ the back conceding goals every game.
Demonstrate you know nothing about modern football without saying you know nothing about modern footballOnce Steffan goes home we can stop this messing about with the ball @ the back conceding goals every game.
Ah don’t get my hopes up cress lad!
4m? Are you mad? You wouldn't get his shin pad for that.If we can agree a reasonable fee (around 4M), I think there is a chance we could sign him permanently.
Agree entirely. I love him so much, I want his girlfriend to have my babies.Has there ever been a season where the phrase ‘never fall in love with a loan player’ has been so apt!
Hope Giles signs but we won’t realise till the season starts just what a miss Steffan will be. Was a massive player last year and played a vital role with his distribution and calmness. Major loss

Julen Lopetegui has left the door open for loan star Ryan Giles to get a chance with Wolves next season.www.expressandstar.com
I wouldn't want to be paying more than £4m for Giles.4m? Are you mad? You wouldn't get his shin pad for that.
I agree with this 100%. As the season went on I thought his influence waned and it became obvious down the home stretch that teams were actively targeting our full backs.I wouldn't want to be paying more than £4m for Giles.
He is defensively weak and yet to score a goal. His assists pretty much dried up too.
He is a decent player and crosses well, but £4m is enough money for him.
To add to this as well, you would like to think that Carrick, Woodgate and Danks have enough contacts in the game to identify a strong left back who can deliver a cross. I’d rather we buy a proper full back than an attacking outlet. If we have better full backs it will take the pressure off our centre halves too, which will improve their performances.I wouldn't want to be paying more than £4m for Giles.

Joe Bennett - I can see what you mean, although I think Giles is a better version already of Bennett. The issue is his defending - if it was a weakness in the Championship what will it be in the Premier League. He also hasn't the upper body strength of the average full back nowdays - he's not built that way, reminds me of the full back we had that went to Villa and Cardiff. Local lad than came up through the academy, but I can't remember his name. Giles is a bit better crosser but they had a similar physique. I would say Giles is a £5m to £6m player. Spence in contrast was stronger on the ball, difficult to shove off and won alot of tackles, as well as quick, also had more of an eye for goal. Spence was £12.5m and failed to play in the Premier League.
I get what you mean about potential but it’s not like he’s a 17 year old kid. He’s 23 and you would hope by now that a coach would have properly got hold of him and told him where he’s going wrong. Is this the side effect of loan after loan though? He bounces from club to club, manager to manager who want results now. They aren’t going to see him as a work in progress or try to develop a player for somebody else’s benefit.Joe Bennett - I can see what you mean, although I think Giles is a better version already of Bennett.
His weakness is without doubt the defending side, and i noticed a few times last season just simply cutting out a ball he struggled with. Either too much power or not enough power when cutting out a pass that resulted in us on the back foot, linked with positional play too.
But we know hes far from the finished article, thats what the coaches are there for. Bags of potential for the lad.
Potentially hit the nail on the head there mate.I get what you mean about potential but it’s not like he’s a 17 year old kid.
