Ryan Giles for £5 mill

Would be a good fee if we signed him for that, hopefully we do.

It's still a big chunk, but it's fair for his contributions over the last 2 seasons.

Well Luton are almost certainly likely to be a Championship team next year (2024), albeit with parachute payments, however, I’d hope that Giles considers the longer term likelihood of Premier League football and ambition. He would be under severe pressure at Luton as a LWB and when Boro are promoted we will have the more sustainable squad I’d have thought. Money talks, but if the wage differential isn’t massive then I’d hope we were seen as the better club to progress his career.

I wouldn't have thought that playing a season for Luton where he is defending all the time and getting walloped most weeks will show him at his best.

Ultimately they can offer him more money though with the TV money they now have.

Can’t see why he’d choose to go to Luton over anyone, they’re going to get pumped week after week, unless of course he is only interested in the money ??
People said the same things about Tav going to Bournemouth. I do think it's more likely that Luton come straight back down but it's still a season of showcasing your talent against the best, if he does alright and they do come down he will always have another PL team come in for him.

I got the impression last season though that he enjoyed it here, let’s hope that gives us the edge
a season in the prem.. might impress a prem manager..

it's a bit of a gamble either way really.

Luton might surprize everybody..

Boro might not surprize anybody!
