Ross Stewart

Now hear me out..

With Middlesbrough's quest for a tall, mobile forward this Summer hitting stumbling blocks with offers knocked back over in Holland at FC Groningen and an inflated price set by Preston for Emil Riis Jakobsen could we turn our attentions back at Ross Stewart?

Interestingly watched the Sunderland v Sheffield United match last week and heard Warnock admit over commentary when he managed us he pushed hard to sign both Stewart and O'Nien. He'll be considerably cheaper than both options above, knows the League and from the area and now with Alex Neil moving onto Stoke will there be an air of uncertainty surrounded life at the Stadium of Light? His contract runs until 30/06/23 and only 26?
Played a career total of 212 games raging from Scottish Premiership, Championship here in the UK and League One. Scoring 77 times and assisting 22 times.

Thoughts?

He has been touted on here for a while. I think he’d be a good signing. Whether they’d sell to us is a different matter.

I’d take anything Warnock says with a pinch of salt tbh, he also said Taarabt wanted to join us when he was here and Akpom was his main target. Then reneged on that when he turned out to be *****.

I said exactly the same things as the OP.
Also heard the Warnock comments.
I think he would be a decent addition.
Also found it a bit weird that Alex Neil was bigging him up in interviews lately.
Almost if he was looking for transfer bites:unsure:

How dare you say that about ("if I'm being honest") Neil

After what’s happened with the manager they won’t let him go for any price in this window or the fans will turn again
