Rome Recommendations

There's a square called Campo Di Fiore. Nice market and that there. Nestled in the corner is a great little bar called the Drunken Ship. It's adjacent to a nice fountain.
⚽🤪
Trastevere is a beautiful little area to walk round. Just outside of the centre.
We stayed on Campo Di Fiore in March and loved it . From there it is a very short walk to Trastevere. Wonderful area to mooch around, and to eat.

I would also recommend the Jewish Ghetto which is again, a short walk back across the Tiber from Trastevere. The Ghetto is full of character, and well worth visiting for a couple of hours. Great restaurants there too, offering a change from the normal Roman cuisine.

We pre booked the Colleseum, which included fast track entry. You had to be there at a certain time, which was no problem.
We used the weekly transport ticket for the bus and metro system, although we walked a lot. Great place, but how do the Romans manage to look cool in suits when we were sweaty touristy wrecks in 35C heat in July?

I found Rome to be a place where theres so many unbelievably awesome historical sites, it was difficult to process them all. If for example, you took one and plonked it in another city, it’d be worth the trip in itself. I found myself spending 5 minutes appreciating it and moving on to the next one. Unbelievable place.

Profile pic is me taking a pic of the Sistine chapel roof. Don’t get caught doing it thoug.
