I remember a few releatives who used to run marathons regularly said he was a nonce in the 80s.. also said he was untouchable because of who he knew and who he was in with.

It may be worth commenting that even current laws consider sex between an older child and an underage but over 13 child a lesser offence with a lower maximum sentence, and current CPS guidelines suggest prosecution is not in the public interest if actual consent is not vitiated. This is not real kiddie fiddling a la Rolf.

True. Saville mainly went for over 13s too though didn’t he? I might be wrong on this. Doesn’t make it any less bad given how conscious he was of their ages.

Well one of them was, when he was 25. And Wyman, while we’re on the subject, was much older.

Obviously Savile is about as bad as it gets, but some people are “cancelled” for less than the likes of Bowie, Wyman etc. And some people are probably as bad as, or worse than Savile (Jackson, given the ages of his victims) and society seems to go “oh but it wasn’t that bad was it? He didn’t know what he was doing” etc.

I was a huge Michael Jackson fan until Leaving Neverland, and find it very hard not to listen to him now (although I manage), so I do understand why people defend certain folk. I’m just not sure it’s “right”.

I'm not sure about that @FishofContemplation

Jerry Lee Lewis at least faced some consequence after he married his 13 year old second cousin when he was 22 and she was only 14 when she had their 1st child, this had been swept under the rug until it was raised during his tour of the UK in 1958, which subsequently was 'cancelled' after a couple of concerts.
