Rod Stewart

Saw him a couple of years ago in Mountain View, CA and he put on a decent show. Although it was a bit like watching your dad dancing at some points, but that's his act really and he just keeps it going year after year. His voice wasn't bad at all, and we had a decent night (Cyndi Lauper was support, which Mrs Jumpers loved).

One of my best mates mam's actually dated Rod back when he first started out, although that's the extent of my brush with showbusiness.

I can't bear to watch him now, but back in the day, Rod and The Faces were just perfect. Funnily enough, he ( and they) featured in a Seventies reminiscence I did last week.

This is wrong on so many levels. I grew up in the 1970s watching and listening to Rod. He is a legend, a musical icon. This is like an elderly man trying to impress young women when drunk at his granddaughters wedding. The bit where he slaps his own bottom is nothing short of cringeworthy. Why Rod?

You gave me hours of entertainment as a boy growing into a man, and left an imprint on my memory. Sadly, this will tarnish all that.

Loved Rod and the Faces. Loved him right up until he recorded Do ya think I'm sexy. It's been downhill with the odd good bit ever since.
