Rod Liddle : Sunday Times this Morning.

He has a point though, if Tavernier was spark out then surely he shouldn’t have been allowed to continue. On the other hand when the collision took place there was no inkling that they were about to score so why would he need to do it?

He's a complete tool.
First of all, it was 100% a foul and it was right outside their box.
They were nowhere near a position to score when Tavernier went down, and it's laughable to suggest that he stayed down on the off chance that Birmingham got a shot off.

Shouldn't be surprised that he's trying to rile up people though, he's a professional bigot who makes money by being controversial.

Just saw that he called Jude Bellingham the best player on the pitch, he came on in the 77th minute and had next to no influence except for that foul.
Says it all.

Perhaps he mixed him up with Bela who had played well.

Probably, but it just shows how little attention he was paying if he got them mixed up.
Bela was the one Bellingham replaced, they don't even look alike or play in the same position.

He can say whatever he likes.
He can write whatever he likes.

History will say from now until the end if time Middlesbrough 1-1 Birmingham.
His protestations and allegations mean absolutely diddly.

He wasn't at the match was he? Tav clearly took a blow to the head, even in the North Stand we could see his head lurch back. He appeared out cold. He wasn't as it happens but will have been recovering. Lee Camp was worried enough to rush forward and wave for the game to be stopped. Players from both sides had stopped playing. The ref blew up before the cross was made, there is photographic evidence of that.
Boro were not hanging on for a draw, we had equalised and were trying to win the game.
We are all told to take no chances with head injuries. Rod Liddle has got this very wrong on so many counts.

Its an opinion piece, its sole intention is to be controversial and stimulate exactly the type of responses on here.
