If anyone is struggling to sleep in the heat and is looking for something to watch!

My sister and I used to watch this film on video loads when we were kids, we can’t have been older than 12 at the time. Watching it now, it makes me laugh knowing how triggered some people get over certain subjects related to the film.

Love the music, proper guilty pleasure.

Watch part of it tonight. A strange strange film. I know its loved and is a cult but I find it hard work and the songs not that good. Tim Curry is brilliant though.

Another film classed as a cult movie years ago was Repo Man. Never got that either.

Well, it was way ahead of its time, I never realised it was based as some sort of a tribute to the old ‘B’ movies of the early to mid 60’s and related to transvestites.

I presumed it was about a bunch of eclectic beings with a single unified common interest but seem to be possessed in a vacuum of fantasy and make believe, with varying degrees of perceived normality, displaying really bizarre thoughts and actions at times too. I also assumed that the song ‘Let’s Do The Time Warp Again’ involved the members imposing their lifestyles and beliefs and forever reliving the same old personally held crazy individualistic traits and actions, going repeatedly round and round in circles about everything time and time again.

When I realised the origins had connotations to modern life, I thought to myself thank goodness we have FMTTM to provide some escapism from all of that.

I remember a pub we used to go in a certain group would put this on and bloody meatloaf. Used to do my head in

A proper underground event film for many of us from the 80s. The Time Warp at discos & weddings resurrected it, but a real fun night out back in the day
