Roberts

Is there a problem with him, Injured ? not match fit ? As NW appeared to be desperate to get him back on loan it cannot be a personality issue. When Wing get's on to the pitch before the likes of Roberts is concerning.

I think we will sign Watmore until the end of the season and let Roberts go back and then either sign someone like Bolasie or Grosicki instead. I like Roberts but if there is a problem we don’t know about and he’s not playing then we might aswell replace him. Hopefully he turns it around in the mean time as I a big believer in him but obviously we don’t know everything behind the scenes

God I hope we don’t go near Bolasie. We’ve wasted enough time courting him in the past.

He is, but maybe better at Roberts with regards to holding a defensive position, filling the space that needs filling and discipline. You'd have to see them on a daily basis to know that but Roberts shouldn't have been brought on last night for me.

Agree with you. But the way Wing comes on and gets no where near anyone and lets people glide past him with 1 2s he isn’t your man either. He’s poor
I think you are being kind there Block21.

I am a big Roberts fan, Roberts is your man to turn a 1-0 lead into a 2 or 3 nil lead for me, but I totally see Neils point. He is harvesting points, has a system that is working reasonably well for now and If we can improve in January with a Grosicki or Bolasie who are both strong players fair do’s. I trust Neil to do the right thing even though my personal instincts are to play him, he has forgotten more about the game than I will ever know. In NW I trust.

I wouldn’t of brought Roberts on either. The only reason Wing came on was because Morsy first game back. Ideally Morsy is the man you need out there. He’s quality and strong in the tackle

I agree. I aint complaining mate I’m just saying it how I see it. I look at Roberts and think he’s probably one of the most natural footballers at the club. But if Warnock thinks playing him is to the detriment of the team and it’s more risk than reward who am I to argue. I would only question his decision making if we weren’t getting results but we are. And we are bouncing back when we have the odd poor result. It’s fantastic and most of that is down to Warnock.

If he thinks he would rather have a wide forward type like Grosicki or Bolasie or someone of that ilk then I won’t complain . I wasn’t an advocate of signing Watmore originally but he looks sharp and something totally different to what we had and is proving to be a astute signing. Again excellent by Warnock. Hopefully Watmore keeps it up and stays fit and he will be here until season end for sure.

We must have somebody better than Wing, he looks totally lost and the game just passes him by. In Warnock we trust.

I am not normally one to slag off a player but when Wing came on last night it was like we went down to 10 men, he was really poor. Now I know he can be good, we have seen it in the past, so I dont understand why he has deteriorated so much, maybe just needs time

Morsy had just let them in to score. That's playing with 10 men. Should have been subbed 10 minutes earlier.

Not being disrespectful bear but Morsy is better than Wing at everything apart from long distance shooting. Wing is nowhere near Sam Morsy at all. When Wing came on we looked nervy and got over ran in midfield. When Morsy was on we had bite and legs.

I'd loan Wing out in January, he's regressed badly and he's comfortably our worst midfielder this season.
He's looked so off the pace every time he's played this season.

He needs game time if he's going to get back to his best and I don't think he'll get it here bar a bad run of injuries.

I didn't say he was, but last night he should have been subbed much earlier as his legs had gone. I thought we were very nervy before they scored; that goal gave Swansea the confidence to push harder for the equaliser, mainly on the flanks rather than through midfield.

I think it's plainly obvious that something is a miss with Roberts He's fit and available.

I think the main issue is clearly Neil don't trust him to tackle back or track runners. He's mentioned more than once that in tight or high tempo games midfielders 'run past him'.

I imagine also that maybe he's not doing it in training or maybe got the hump. Warnock has said on many occasions that if you 'do it' in training then you'll get a chance (how many times has he mentioned Watmore's level of training).

I actually think the writing is on the wall for Roberts. He's clearly already behind Watmore and even young Sam Forlarin. I imagine we are paying Roberts a few quid so maybe cutting the losses in Jan is an option.

Also the gaffer tried to sign Bolasie and says openly 'we're looking at the wide areas'. That must be a pretty good indicator to Roberts.

I'm not overly fussed. I am sure he will get his chance if he stays. I'm just not sure he 'fits' the style we want to play.

Wing looks like he's running in slippers😂. So far off the pace despite having fresh legs. I'd loan him out of we can get another CM 'grafter' in.

There's got to be something up with Roberts, it might be something simple like he just won't listen and do what's best for the team or work within the tactical remit. You can't have players like that nowadays, unless they are an absolute mile above everything else in the division.

Every time I've seen him, he's looked quality on the ball, but seems only for himself, it's like he's playing on his own.

It seems a bit like the Traore situation, except Traore just didn't have a clue tactically, but was willing to learn and he clearly wanted to help the team. Pulis helped Traore no end, and I would be confident in Warnock getting the most out of Roberts, if Roberts wanted to do it.

There could be a load of alternate reasons like, but something doesn't seem right.

People would have loaned saville, howson, dyksteel, bola, fry, johnson, out. Wings having avdip. He can play he has in the past. Get off his back and let him n nw work on his improvement.

When Wing came on last night I winced every time he went near the ball, he is so clumsy. He either looked like he was going to foul someone or just hoof the ball wherever he could, rather than be calm and collected and at least try to keep possession. Think he might be gone in January.
