Robert Jenrick clearly on message

There's nothing less patriotic than dodging taxes , one of the main reasons for the very wealthy to vote brexit was to avoid EU regulations to crack down on tax evasion

He will never get my vote as long as he’s got a hole in his ****. But I get the feeling he might have lost yours and the Metro elite might stamp their feet.
I'll see what the policies offer, as usual. I'm not sure what the 'metro elite' are but I have an idea the term has been used to keep people's eyes off what the real elite are up to, Trump used the same.

Why won't you ever vote for the Labour Party?

They probably won’t: if @Jimstewart is anything to go by, they’ll be thinking “aw, isn’t that a great display of patriotism!!” As he watches them rounding up all the Jews and gypsies
If you wish your contributions to have any credibility at all you may wish to reflect on the impression comments like this give to other readers, especially as you are the first to complain about responses being too personal or amounting to bullying.

I’m not ignoring your first three paragraphs at all I simply said earlier in the thread that I got the distinct impression that people on here thought British patriotism is bad yet others are fine. You’ve confirmed it. As for the difference between the two I assume you are linking it to the evils of the British empire? Well fair enough but not one person that’s breathing now had anything to do with a relic that ceased to exist the best part of seventy five years ago. You can’t keep the sackcloth and ashes on forever.
And never did say where those grotty windows

I used to. The first election I could vote in was 92 and I voted for Kinnock . At the Sheffield rally I thought he was home and hosed and then we had Kelvin McKenzie and his headline and he reckoned it got Major over the line.
I was all set to vote for John Smith until tragedy struck and then I voted for Blair until he got into bed with bush and set the Middle East on fire for a generation and that was me done with them. Simple as that really I left them at Iraq and I’ve not much desire to return.

So it's not about policy for you?

It's an attempt to get a point across. I have dispensed with subtlety!

Voting Labour ? No it’s about actions . I was on the same side of the argument as Benn, Robin Cook, Corbyn and Galloway on Iraq. It was the biggest foreign policy disaster of my lifetime and it was completely avoidable

Even if I could bring myself to agree with any Tory policies I couldn’t put my cross next to them either because of the way they laid waste to the industrial heartlands of the country post 79. I was a teenager watching her turn her fire on the miners and I’ve never forgot it . I’ve never forgot Kelly and Iraq either so neither are for me and never will be.

Actions follow policy in the vast majority of cases. What you're talking about is similar to what's happening today. An event that a policy hadn't been written for.

I was also against the Iraq war, had the opposition been against it then it wouldn't have happened, unfortunately the Tories wanted to go as much as Blair did and the rebels were voted down.

That didn't put me off voting, and I haven't always voted Labour, though like you I'd never vote Tory, they're against the working class bettering themselves by definition. I've not seen anything offered by the Lib Dems other than their appalling told during austerity

So for me it has to be policies all the way.

But resorted to being two faced and deeply offensive instead.
