Riverside Family Zone question

Can anyone confirm if the Riverside family zone includes Blocks 36 and 37?

To give a bit of context, we've just moved back to the area after 17 years down south so the time has come to introduce my sons (6 and 9) to the joys of live football. Given it could turn into a complete disaster I'd rather take them into the family zone, however none of the north-east corner blocks show any availability and only block 36 has three seats together - this is for the Reading game.

Any advice appreciated - when I last regularly attended I didn't have any kids to worry about!

Sorry I don't know much about the family zone but don't think 36 & 37 are included.
Think I've seen on here that family zone is generally sold out or you have to ring up..

Suggest you ring ticket office to find out or hopefully someone on here can give you some better info.

Enjoy the game UTB

Thanks for the reply Northerner. I managed after a couple of attempts to get through to the ticket office and you're right, blocks 36 and 37 aren't in the family zone. However, they have managed to find me three tickets together in block 33 👍

Thanks for all the replies. All sorted and yes, for anyone else wondering you need to ring up as it's mostly season ticket holders.

Glad you got sorted and hope you all enjoy the day. Remember taking my kids to their first game many years ago now and it's a wonderful feeling.

Get there a bit earlier to give time to wander around the ground and soak in the atmosphere of a big match and crowd. Just hope we perform on the pitch!

Take them to the North East Corner and get their pictures taken 'at Ayresome Park' - photo on the outside of the stadium. Also, I took my lad to see the Holgate Wall. All little things that create that connection. Hope they enjoy the match. Reading games always have a bit of drama near the end

Looking to take my son to his first game next month, online Family Zone is sold out.

Did not know you need to phone, good bit of info 👍

If you go in a bit earlier and have a linger around the front/corner, there's a good chance they will get on to do the flag waving at the side of the pitch if they want. My little nephew does it most matches and loves it! He said you can actually pre-book it (maybe on the MFC Foundation website) but Ive never looked into it (of course, he could be having me on like!).

  • GRFZ Flag Waving Pitchside. If you want your child(ren) to be involved, please email liam.long@mfc.co.uk
(it's on the matchday info page )

The blocks all show as unavailable online but there's obviously a bit of availability which they will check when you ring up. The woman I spoke to was really helpful when I explained the situation.
This section is not sold out - but as said above is controlled through the ticket office to ensure actual families are going. They have to safeguard everyone.
There are activities from 12 noon every 3pm kick off for the kids in the concourse. Entertainment but also education. They have invited guests as well working with the kids. It is a special area with all sorts going on - a real Saturday club.

Perhaps this should be better advertised.....or is it and I've completely missed this information?

Much prefer to take my son to his first game here than the North Stand ......😁
