As things stand at the moment we can't just give them back. This would require a change in the law. Rather asurdly, Sunak is complaining about the british museum lending them to Greece, something that happens with museums around the world on a daily basis. Rumour has it there was a protocol agreed that the Greek PM would not mention the Marbles before their meeting. He reneged and Rishi acted like a five year old.
