My daughter, who is a politics nerd. Said today that the last few months, ending in the last couple of days, have been classic. But unfortunately the one thing missing which would have been the icing on the cake.

Baker should be behind bars. Views that should be absolutely nowhere near a (supposed) democracy.

Sunak has the brand but is tainted. No sure his extreme fiscal conservatism will play well with the wider electorate (although tory membership are unlikely to consider beyond their afternoon nap let alone the next election).

A large field isn't going to help them here I think. Party will be as splintered as it is now, or more so and the plots to oust the winner will likely begin on day 1 of their tenure imo.

I hope I mean he will lose some tory faithful votes but the country will be a better place for it eventually.
I hope I don't mean he's going to win a GE based on the diversity ticket as Exiled points out.

So long as Sunak doesn't have a water melon smile he's in with a chance but he looks like a bit of a picaninnie to me.
 
You can’t trust Sunak. The man who pays £2K for a hand tailored suit…and asks his tailor to cut it so looks like he bought it in charity shop.
 
The man's a multi millionaire with a billionaire wife. What empathy that guy has with ordinary voters I just don't know but I guess disappointing that voters like to doff caps to the public school elite. Winchester college boy
