As I said in my original post, doubts were cast about splitting the training ground from the hotel complex, this actually devalued the clubYou really think he’ll give up rockcliff
I don't think anyone is saying a change is imminent, I wouldn't expect him to get us up and look to sell, personally I think it's 10+ years away, but it 100% will one day change ownership from Gibson to someone else.Ask rob this question
He’s going nowhere
I think you are wrong..I would say ultimately he’s a Boro supporter who happens to be a businessman.100% he would sell, I know he loves the Boro, but at the end of the day and above all else he is a businessman.
Fair enough….good point about his age. But he may still have that passion that sparked him 20 years ago.I have mixed feelings, love Gibbo for what he’s done for the club. But does he have the spending power to make us even a mid table PL club? I don’t think he does. Also he’s 60+ now, still young but also at the point where he’s probably looking at winding down a bit
It’s all just speculation, but what it did point out is as a PL club, we become a much more attractive prospect, currently it seems the most attractive club for investment.Yeah excellent I hope we do get a new American owner then they can borrow money to buy the club, once they have bought it then transfer the total debt, Gibson's original debt and their borrowing debt to the club, it all makes sense. Then they can get rid of a world class training facilities to build a couple of 5 side pitches alongside the river tees. **** Hedge Funds.
How do you know he's(Sir SG) not going to pass it on in his family?
Sounds like Dein & KenyonDavid dein
???
Not according to discussions we had with him just this week - he has no intention of going anywhere fast but obviously has a plan for the future.100% he would sell, I know he loves the Boro, but at the end of the day and above all else he is a businessman.
That's your perception of Gibson?100% he would sell, I know he loves the Boro, but at the end of the day and above all else he is a businessman.

Rob, his drive & ambition are to get to the PL which then opens his up his get out options. Im not so so sure that the rest of the EFL hold our Chairman in such high regard, I’ve worked in several EFL clubs, many to point to Boro historically paying too high wages, and one of the main drivers to the current financial issues in the championship. It’s a very common conversation that Mr Gibson is now driving more sustainability because financially he’s not a big fish anymoreNot according to discussions we had with him just this week - he has no intention of going anywhere fast but obviously has a plan for the future.
And he is very forthright in how our club has been very proactive in changing football in the EFL to bring it to its senses. He seems to have massive drive and ambition for the club right now. Not just down to Michael Carrick either but we are in the midst of change. The big gigs at the stadium are part of a bigger outlook.
The Chelsea sale has massively distorted the market, thus why Man U & Liverpool owners now are looking to lay off some shares. Both would rather hold on to 30% of their ownership, because they both see club values increasing.American sports investors currently trying to bail out of Man U and Liverpool. None of them would be interested in a championship club as an "investment" + why would they care about having a training ground near the stadium. I'm calling b***ks on this
I'm not sure it would. Wrexham are a part of the English football pyramid as are Cardiff.US interest is always & only about money - they are, clueless about football, it's history & role in British society..
As for Celtic & Rangers in PL, that would cause huge resentment in English fanbase.
Could be with the few remaining British owners that could happen.. just showing how unrepresentative our leagues are becoming.. just a cash cow to exploit, burden in debt & then fold.
