Although I have heard and know of Ron Flowers, I can't really remember him playing.

I believe that Ron came through in the final years of Billy Wright and Bill Slater at Wolves. Wolves were a very good side at the time.
I've a feeling that he was in competition with Duncan Edwards for the England shirt but that all ended in 1958
That probably tells you why a lot of our younger supporters don't remember him too well, if at all
From what I remember he was a good solid player but he never quite hit the high-spots of Edwards or Bobby Moore
