God that’s sad. 40 year old.
Tell you one thing - lots of memories for lots of riders.
 
I've just been sent that link ten minutes ago. So sad. Lots of cyclists (and probably other endurance athletes) suffer from irregular heartbeats and are forced to retire. It's the reason I had to cut down my cycling when I was 50 and it has decreased year on year.
 
Yes extremely sad indeed. Every time I saw him interviewed at the Tour de France etc, he always came across as a very engaging and personable guy. Think that’s been borne out by the tributes to him from some of the top cyclists he worked with. 40? No age that to be taken.
