RIP Marvelous Marvin Hagler

I will never forget sat with my dad watching him destroy Minter. One of the best boxers I have seen and a true legend.

Thanks for the memories.

RIP

The fight was better with Harry Carpenter commentating on it.

Awful news, A warrior in the most competitive middleweight era ever. Ferocious boxer.

Later became an actor on Italian films.

Remember watching the hagler hearns fight. We were down in Devon doing a field trip from prior pursglove. Hearns and hagler was on, and we were meant to be in a lesson after dinner. No such chance , we were all in the TV room watching the boxing. Teachers wondered where we were, and came to find us, and stayed and watched until the end. RIP Marvelous

One of the greatest fighters ever , he ruled the middleweight division for years .RIP champ

I wrote previously that I was at the Minter v Hagler fight in 1980.. bus load from Boro went ( and two of us from Whitby) went to the weigh in too.....what a trip, what a night !!! brutal, but very great memories....both fighters gone now.. R.I.P.

Awful news to wake up to, one of the greatest of all time and his battles with Tommy Hearns and Sugar Ray Leonard were what got me I to boxing.

Genuinely saddened by the news and despite being a tough, tough guy in the ring he seemed a lovely guy out of it with a unique and frequent laugh.

RIP champ.

Totally agree I had the immense pleasure of meeting him at a Q&A in Doncaster not so long back and got to ask him a question out of Tommy Hearns and John Mugabi who hit the hardest his reply while laughing they both hit as hard and they both hurt RIP champ
