RIP Gordon McQueen

One of my early attendances and memories at Ayresome as a kid early 80s, watching Man U, maybe it was a cup game, Gary Bailey in goal, Gordon McQueen on pitch ahead of kick off doing warm ups. I was in the junior reds area and some bloke shouts McQueen McQueen! And Gordon walks over to the side line and cups his ear and the guy goes Ger'home! And Gordon just smiled. And so did I.
 
I had the pleasure of meeting Gordon in Eddie's an old school drinking den in Rusholme in 1994. He was with Robbo and Moran. What a great man. He was interested in what I was up to. I spoke to Robbo and said he should sign for the Boro. The next week he did.
