Just seen that. Told my mate who’s a few years younger than me and he didn’t have a clue who he was.

Sad news though, and as much as he was ridiculed when on pop idol he was clearly talented and had made a good career for himself. RIP

It is a shame.

He was very well liked by all who knew him, it seems. When he first was on Pop Idol he came across as a big head, or maybe was made to look that way by the producers, then he did that cringey Britney Spears cover and became an object of ridicule. He managed to get some respect from me for overcoming that and more for apparently being actually pretty nice and humble away from the stage.

Was very shocked when I heard this yesterday, Darius was a massive crush of mine back in the day. Bounced back after the initial ridicule of Popstars to prove Simon Cowell wrong by getting a platinum album and a number 1 single. Very well liked by all accounts and had a great career in the West End
