Residents across Middlesbrough are reminded that household green waste collections remain suspended.

The pause is due to pandemic-related staffing pressures within Middlesbrough Council's Waste Services team, with collections due to resume on Tuesday, August 31.

A Middlesbrough Council spokesman said: "The pandemic has had a significant on staffing levels, so for the time being we're prioritising our weekly refuse collection and fortnightly kerbside recycling services.

"The situation is under constant review and we plan to resume green waste collections at the end of this month.

"In the meantime we're grateful to all our residents for their patience and understanding, and apologise for any inconvenience."

PRESS RELEASE

Still collecting the Recycle though? as they are alternate weeks and the same crews on the whole ,makes no sense to me that they cannot continue .

Cost saving using the pandemic as an excuse. They should be refunding part of the council tax. Private companies who don't deliver services won't be getting paid.
