The of ‘Rediscovered Voices of Teesside: Memories from the Archives’ will showcase short (approx. 10min) newly digitised extracts from oral histories recorded in the 1980s. Each week’s recording, digitised and made accessible as part of Heritage Unlocked’s collaborations with Middlesbrough Council, will focus on a theme in the area’s history and provide a rare opportunity to listen to first-hand accounts of early twentieth century life in the area.

The first recording (today at 5pm) is of Sidney Clay’s recollections of life during the Second World War in Middlesbrough. This can be found on www.facebook.com/heritageunlocked and on the Heritage Unlocked YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2O3tDqopPo6t2YYRC73bOA
