I just found this random pic on my pc from 2004. I don't live in the area anymore so it would be interesting to see the exact same pic from today, now the works have gone. Maybe someone in the area has some time on their hands?

A few metres further forward, but that's pretty much the same spot now.

It started to absolutely bucket down just as I got there, so I didn't get the exact same position before I got drenched.

I get what you saying and the view from that position and Seaton Carew is now a lot different from what it used to be. The main reason we are all here is due to the heavy industry and for me it added its own beauty. There was nothing better than coming over Ormesby Bank or being up Eston Hills on a night and looking down on the glow of Teesside. The colour and noises were something to behold.

Reminds me of Venice Lido (you get the occasional oil tanker on the horizon there as well iirc).
