Record attendance of 1781 in their pre-season friendly against Hartlepool tonight. It was a great game, ending in a 5 - 1 win to Pools.

If you get chance you should get down there, it’s a great set-up and for a team at that level the pitch is immaculate. Good beer on draught, bbq on for every home game too.

They’ll go up this season.

Very impressive attendance, any idea what percentage was made up of Hartlepool fans?

No official number that I know of because I know a lot were walk-ups. But looking around, there were a lot of Poolies there. Significantly more than Redcar I’d say.

They had very good gates last season too, good to see. They're definitely a club on the up. I've enjoyed my visits to Green Lane.

5-1 at Billy Town tonight too but against Darlo RA with only a hundred or so there 😁

Are Darlington RA the new side playing at the Reynolds Arena?

If I was Marske I would be worried. Think Redcar have potential to go far up the leagues (having loads of money helps) and they will take quite a number of the floating supporters away from Marske

They’re taking players from them too. They signed their captain Wheatley. They had Nathan Thomas there last night too, he’s apparently 95% going to Marske as he played for them the night before, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he went to Redcar.

They’re owned by the guys who run that Host & Stay so they’re absolutely wadded.

No, that's Darlington United. I don't think they'll last long but it's a case of wait and see.

RA used to be a Northern League club, they're now in the Wearside League.
Saw these (united) take Thornaby apart the other week. They seem to have taken most of their team from last seasons Redcar Newmarket side.

They are claiming on their website that entrance to league games will be free. The only way I can see that they have a long term future is if some of Reynolds buried treasure has been discovered a la Pirates of the Caribbean. :)

Interesting, didn't realise it was Host and Stay - surely they could have invested in a rags to riches Saltburn team? ;) (I may be biased here)

Redcar Athletic are a great club, been to a few games and always had an excellent time. I've always classed Marske as my "back home" non-league team but I could see that changing in future.

Playing Heaton Stannington at home tonight, 7:30. Hasn’t been a great start to the season in truth, lost their first game and threw away a 1 - 0 lead last match to draw 2 - 2. Did pull it back in the death mind. Get on down 👍🏻

Sacked their manager tonight. It’s been a horrendous run tbf and follows a 9 - 3 loss at the weekend.

Carl Jarrett ex-Marske manager practically a shoe-in.

Yes, I expected it after the last couple of results.

Lost a few decent players recently and squad was starting to look thin.

Apparently there was an incident at half time in the last game. Which would explain how they went from 3 - 3 at half time to 9 - 3 at full time.

Adam Boyes on verge of signing too.

Must admit I wondered what the team talk had been!!

Apparently Redcar have a wage bill of over £5k a week, no wonder he got sacked. Looks like they will be spending a hell of a lot more if they are bringing Boyes and others in, crazy money for the northern league, basically doing exactly what Marske did, madness
