Red Faction - walking out on 30th minute

Luxury was maybe the wrong word there.
Maybe saying that it’s not an essential product, it’s a nice thing to have, would have been better.

I’m just saying that a load of people many of whom will be sporting some Stone Island or CP Company clothing, walking out of a football match shouldn’t really be using deprivation as weight to their argument about basically wanting their ticket to be a bit cheaper.
You’re right it’s not essential

I’ve posted above about how affordability affects my attendance.

It’s this the club need to sit and take notice of. If you ask me.

I wouldn't mind losing the free pint if it kept ticket prices lower.
I'd also support a scheme where a season ticket holder could offer up a st to be used by someone who couldn't afford a match ticket but I appreciate that could cause the club a lot of administrative time and expense when the seat's already been sold.

Aren't we getting extra revenue from the new TV deal? Didn't we just make million on Rogers and probably sell more players in the summer. Ticket revenue is small part of it in the grand scheme of things surely a more fuller stadium helps a promotion push and attract higher calibre of player's
Every penny counts towards our budget

It shouldn’t nowadays with computers. I am a season ticket holder. I can’t make all the games. I go on holiday during the season. I would like to give my seat to somebody free. I can’t.

What is a realistic acceptable price for people?

£510 over 23 games is £22.17 per game with a free pint.

Call a pint £4.50 and give fans the option to forgive £4.50 × 23= £103.5.

£510 - £103.5 = £406.5

£406.5 over 23 games = £17.67 without a pint is this acceptable and is it worth putting this to the Club first instead of a mass walk during a game which could have an effect on the players who are not to blame ?

And with the above in mind and as inflation rises, so wages, costs of running the stadium and club etc, how would an increase be undertaking to keep the fanbase content but also look after the interests of the club?
I agree although the pint will be at cost as part of the deal so more like £2

Still got your blinkers on .
More fans brings more revenue , and attracts more fans with the feel good factor .
The club are alienating the fans , if we had lost at Leicester there would be more uproar , but don't let a lucky win hide our lack of a forward and squad depth . ( they missed 4 sitters and on another day it would have been 2-0 on 20 minutes )
I want my club to be at the top , but by selling my favourite players every season it is like a kick in the teeth .
I live for the Boro , as I know you do , but they need to embrace the fans not wind them up .
You want a quality side, we have to pay more

Compared to Leicester's facilities, where beer is served in seconds and the space provided is more than comfortable - and the gents toilets are more than a garden shed, the Riverside needs some investment - its more than showing its age.
it’s amazing what a couple of decades of prem and a seasons of champions league money will do for a club

“Fleecing its fans”, absolute dramatic nonsense. Why would the club want to fleece anyone?

Stop flouncing and just debate like an adult
I wasn’t going to post this but I will. Sod
It.

I’ve had you on ignore for a while now. You belittled me on here when I was struggling with lockdown and covid restrictions.

I don’t know why I’m engaging with you to be honest. You’ve dragged me down to your level. Well done mate. Hope you’re proud. Internet anonymity eh.

I had you on ignore for ages, exactly due to this kind of attitude you are displaying now.

I’ve tried to lift you up to debate like an adult, but you’re topsy-turvy view of the world makes you think that I’m pulling you down 🤦‍♂️

And I remember you accusing me of “belittling you” and it’s as nonsense now as it was then

Feel free to get back to the subject instead of ad honinem responses, and explain why the club are and would want to “fleece” anyone.

As for the prices, the club isn’t a charity, it is trying to find a way to get back up. I’m sure the price increases were made with good intent, not to “fleece” anyone. Of course for some people it’ll tip it over the edge of affordability and that’s a shame. But inflationary costs go up for a football club as much as for you and I. If they have chosen this route and don’t seriously go for it with summer signings then yeah, I’d agree it’s bad, if they are doing this to get up where prem money will allow the club to not increase prices for the next few years then I’m happy with that

It’s not about winning, it’s about debating with a bit more subjectivity and seeing that it’s not as black and white as you are painting it right now. I’m sure the club would have loved to not increase prices but running the training ground and stadium will have massive cost increases due to this s***y government ruining the economy. Gibson is only allowed to put so much in, so we have to get revenue up from elsewhere

I am sure AET Is grateful for your lift but they are debating like an adult. And it is a debate - differing opinions and views welcome. Topsy turvy view of the world comment is harsh given what AET has shared previously. You don’t need to agree but be kind. And yes that works both ways.

I'm my experience over the past 30 years, it's actually those fans that are from poorer income households that have been the traditional hardcore fans. I would put money on some of the RF lads (and lasses?) being very much in that group. But at least they are trying to make some impact for the wider benefit of all fans and it seems you're suggesting they are trying to use it to get a few quid off their tickets?

Im absolutely certain that you're not meaning to come across as arrogant in any way. But your post infers that people who might be struggling shouldn't have an opinion and those who aren't struggling, cannot care for those who might be either now, or perhaps in the future.

Some people are willing to make a stand for the benefit of others. Unfortunately, as many posts on this thread demonstrate, that's not especially understood, beleived or appreciated. That's a pretty common view we see in wider society at the minute and it's sad at best and depressing and pernicious at worst.

We already pay more than most.

Is that the Tory party the chairman endorsed? If so then perhaps something is coming home to roost, as they say, and he’s doing what any Tory would do and is passing his costs onto those lower down the chain.
