Please don't take this in a negative way.
Get rid of the DA da da da at the end of songs.
We love you , and everywhere we follow song , - as Palace do , don't pause/ stop, just repeat it , why stop and do the waving arms ? You lose the momentum.
Wilder said song , just repeat it , drop the Shiite chorus of da da da da .
My MFC , the one for me. Bin the du, du du, du after it.
The group above the red faction sang a great version of the proclaimers ' I m gonna be ' to the tune of 'Johnny Howson '
That is the only one where the da da da fits

The incessant new songs do my head in.

I’m sure the south stand love it, but the rest of the ground havent memorised this weeks’ hymn sheet, so can’t join in.

Maybe I’m old, but it smacks of kids watching too much European football and wanting to copy the chants. Bring back BORO, BORO, BORO

I was gonna say the same thing, its probably me getting old but half of the chants do my head in. Don't get me wrong the RF are literally the only source of noise in the ground now but the majority of the old chants have gone now. Its just background noise.

Whilst the Red Faction are not everyone cuppa tea. I have to say without them the Riverside would be an awful place to play and watch football.

Unless the North / East and West stands are suddenly going to break into 'better songs'. I very much doubt it. I think some people treat football like going to the Cinema. Pay the money and sit down and shut up.

Clearly booing taking the knee and Connally isn't on. Yet they have given players far more support and backing than anyone else in the ground. They also do plenty of good things behind the scenes.

Just imagine no Red Faction for Saturday? Imagine what it would be like. Who else is going to sing?
 
How many of the south stand are “red faction”?

I think a large proportion is just vocal fans from other parts of the ground (ie the north), who have now moved to that stand to join in. I’m sure they would still sing. And who knows, it might even be some of the old songs we all know and love.


I’m not against the red faction btw. Just a bit sick of this incessant “scores belters all the time” schite

You're right it would be garbage, I dont know where the people sit who used to start the Boro songs and whether they even go to the games now.

I guess the older fans like myself just have to accept that the majority of the songs from Ayresome Park have gone.

I don't attend many home games as based down south. Yet I go in the south stand now.

I am in my 40s and definitely not a Red Faction member. I also don't drink 10 pints and pay frequent trips to the cubicals. I just go for the atmosphere and mainly so I can stand up.

The last time I went in the North Stand I got told to sit down when we won a corner. Although I fully appreciate we were never going to score from one 😂

If you look back to 2008 when the group was formed, they moved to the quietest part of the ground so that they didn't upset anyone singing their new ultra type songs, it's not their fault everyone has moved there for the atmosphere and complaining about the songs is daft. It would be amazing if we had the North stand singing all the oldies and the south singing the RF stuff but almost all the north stand fans willing to stand and sing (me included) have moved south, the problem isn't the RF songs its that the North fans won't join in with the twe12th man, if they did everyone could pick a side and all be happy.

100%. and there's hundreds of 12ish yr olds that dont sing and spend the game facing the crowd, looking around and waving to their mates
 
Lets put safe standing in the South and charge half price.

Without the Red Faction and the atmosphere they create it would be depressing going to the Riverside.

Plus anyone can try and start a chant! Wait for a lull and belt out the opening line like you mean it and people will join in. Thats how it worked at AP
 
Get sick of it now and again… but heck - it’s better than silence and groans .

This basically describes all the big clubs. All the tourists there to experience the "famous atmosphere" and they fail to realise they are supposed to be the ones making it. It's why those stadiums are always so quiet at most games.

Its probably not easy to compete with a drum, megaphone and about 100 fans!
