A couple of weeks after being despatched from the ZDS Cup, The Tigers are back at Ayresome Park for a league game against Middlesbrough and fare worse. Goals from Ian Baird, Bernie Slaven and Paul Kerr give Boro an easy 3-0 win with future Boro striker Andy Payton missing Hulls best chance of the game early on.

I think Baird was injured when he scored; we were just about to bring him off, and he limped straight off the pitch as soon as he's scored.

What a neat finish from Bernie, by the way.
