I have seen on here some posters have previously said they are member of political parties and with all the talk of politics everywhere at the moment it has got me curious about the reasons, advantages and disadvantages of joining a political party. I really don't want this thread to turn into an argument about politics as I know people feel very strongly about politics and thing can quickly get heated which isnt what I want too cause or be part of, It would just be good to get some general answers about what it actually means to be a member of a political party. Before Covid I didn't have more than a passing interest in politics but since COVID I have become a lot more interested and aware and this is a question I can't find a real answer for without actually asking the question. I know between the two main parties they have over 1m members but what isn't often spoke about is what these member actually do. Sorry I hope this question makes sense.
