At least the actor who plays Reacher is as described in the books, not.a five foot tall short **** like Cruise.

He’s as big of a guarantee as you can get in film. To be fair the first film especially was pretty good if you ignore the source material and think of it as a Tom Cruise film. I really like Alan Ritchson in the role though. You couldn’t imagine someone more physically suited to the role and he can act the part with real intelligence. As a bonus, he comes across as a pretty decent bloke in interviews too.

Lee Child tried to support and justify it by saying something like the height was used in books to represent Reacher's dominant presence in situations. Cruise didn't need the physical height to achieve that as his personality did the trick.

Plus built up shoes and clever camera angles. Probably.

Is this a standalone script written specifically for the tv series, or is it based on the novel "Bad luck and trouble"?
I think the first season was based on "The killing floor", unless I am mistaken.

Either way, I enjoyed it and look forward to watching this.

I will forever hate Tom Cruise for him shoehorning himself into the Reacher universe.

I felt personally betrayed that I had spent so much time and energy reading the books to see this little 5'4" gobshyte play Reacher.

Its taken a while to get over it. and I am still a little bitter. lol
