Raducanu knocked out

When she stops blaming everyone and everything else for her failures she might finally make the progress her talent deserves.
The only person I'm aware of that she has blamed for losing is herself. Here's just one example.

Emma Raducanu has blamed herself following her defeat to Iga Swiatek at the Australian Open on Saturday.

Emma Raducanu makes blame feelings clear after losing to Iga Swiatek at Australian Open

Who have you heard her blaming?

Because she won the US open so young and seems to have been around forever it's easy to forget she is only 22. Her body just wasn't ready for the pro circuit. Hopefully she has matured physically, and perhaps mentally, enough now to stay relatively injury free. She undoubtedly has the talent. You don't fluke a major without dropping a set.

A mate was a friend of a sportsman who was considered to be one of the best in the world during his time. This came up in a conversation once and he said. “80-90% of what we do out there is in our head”

I can certainly believe that's the difference between the best in the world and say the next 1000 or so.

In terms of technique and physical attributes there's probably not much in it all once you get to a certain level.

I really would like to see her blossom and reach her former status. The UK could do with someone to follow in Ladies tennis.
Agree. I really don't get the negativity that this girl gets. She miraculously won a Major as a qualifier and may never win one again but she can become a top ten player and compete at the highest level. Personally I would like to see her settle down with a top coaching team but it is her career and what do I know.

There is definitely more unpredictability in the ladies game

Mutiple major winners, different people popping through all the time

The reckon women only have 1 week per month to have optimal levels of performance in sport

You don’t think it would impact their performance?
How the hell would I know -
1) I'm not a woman
2) I'm not an elite athlete
So can't really take an empirically based view

It is a bit of a nonsense argument or debate because what athlete is actually ever anywhere near 100% fit, especially in a physically demanding sport such as tennis - I would hazard a guess many players (both male and female) carry injuries/strains etc given the demands of their sport, and as athletes they condition themselves to adjust.

For men to start debating about the menstrual cycle is just ludicrous.

There’s plenty out there to suggest it does effect performance

I’m not saying players should use it as an excuse and I’m not presenting it as an excuse. I’m saying it could explain why the women’s game is more unpredictable

In terms of women in elite sport, it is a case of that’s life. They have to incorporate into their regime

Why is it ludicrous if there is information out there to suggest it? Although it’s ludicrous in your opinion you still gave an opinion about it…
