Sky News breaking news headlines this morning. People still in a queue
He would have done it to CorbinAs if that would h
As if that would happen
What a reply. They have done that anyway with the drive from Balmoral to Edinburgh via Aberdeen and Dundee and then Northolt to BP via the A40. They will also drive from Westminster Abbey to Windsor very slowly on Monday.
Unless you are looking to turn it into a charade like a torch relay you just dont parade a dead body around on some nationwide tour.
Yes and I think those parades have/will allow many thousands to see the coffin and pay respects at close quarters, all I’m saying is do something different with that queue so that people, many of who will not be fit enough for it, to get through quicker.I believe they will parade the coffin at the funeral and they have already paraded it in Edinburgh and to get to the Palace
I thought Charles and the rest of the cosplayers were "standing guard".
I was only saying to someone earlier tonight I’m surprised no one has tried to do something stupid once inside.
Rest periods would only slow the queue down even more? The guards are changed every 20 mins as it is. The queue itself was closed again overnight as it was overwhelmed in Bermondsey and can't see it getting any better now as the weekenders and families descend.Yes and I think those parades have/will allow many thousands to see the coffin and pay respects at close quarters, all I’m saying is do something different with that queue so that people, many of who will not be fit enough for it, to get through quicker.
You could also have rest periods overnight so the guard of honour protocol is maintained.
They are getting absolute pelters for it on Twitter too. From both sides of the fence. Will be interesting to see how they explain it away on Tuesday. Many saying they were there in a 'press capacity'. Interesting considering they aren't reporters for any news stations or news papers. They aren't having a good month really are they, especially after the whole paying people's utility bills wheel of fortune crap.Beckham queued for 10 hours with the punters - fair play to him. Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield jump the queue and get inserted as VIPs. Go figure.
What the queen would say is they did it for my dad so they can do it for me. I don't understand your better way except to suggest that her coffin be paraded more in the streets? It will be - on Monday. What do you think the queen herself would have said about people queuing for hours and hours to spend a few seconds walking past her coffin?
I agree with everything you say Legz - although I believe his sister was with him ( Joanna)I have respect for Beckham queueing. The bloke can't do right from wrong...I mean look at the slaughtering Phil and Holly are getting for using the VIP pass. And I honestly do believe, despite what's happened in the past over Knighthoods etc, that Beckham has done it for genuine reasons. I mean if he did want to make a big song and dance about it, why turn up at 1.45 am, on his own (no entourage, family etc). The news only got out it was he was there much later. When the media did find out he was there and he was getting questioned he kept replies very short. And the people that spent all that time with him in the queue are saying what a lovely bloke he was, chatting away, sharing food etc.
Ah didn't know that. Just been reading that someone went up to him in the queue and offered to take him to the VIP area but he refused. He was explaining that his grandad was a huge royalist and wouldn't have jumped the queue so he wasn't going to eitherI agree with everything you say Legz - although I believe his sister was with him ( Joanna)
Then you missed the bit where politicians and heads of state and family have their own entry and higher viewing area so they dont hold up the "mortals" queue at all. Willoughby and Schofield weren't in that queue.I only read a few comments at the beginning and wow…
complaining about a VIP or hierarchy of queue goers…
it’s literally lower hierarchy subjects queuing to bow to the top of the hierarchy…
i imagine inserting VIPs at the front, including MPs reduces the commotion it could cause having them queue with us ’mortal‘ folk.. plus, imagine standing for 12 hrs next to Rees mogg and his top hatted offspring…
but praising celebrities for queuing makes me laugh..
Have you ever had the pleasure of watching the Emoji movie? It's even worse than it sounds.
Is it ?Have you ever had the pleasure of watching the Emoji movie? It's even worse than it sounds.
Wow it’s not often I’m left speechless by a comment on here but yes that’s done itpeople who sell themselves to the state violence apparatus
He is in his 70s and has earned my respect for the way he has coped with the physical and emotional toil of the whole thing. I'm not a Royalist but I did respect the Queen for her service for 70 years, even up until two day before her death. And it looks like Charles will do likewise.Charles looks absolutely exhausted when you think of his age standing for hours is not an easy thing
